T. Carter Melton
fished the Atlantic for twenty-five years from Cape Hatteras to
the Maine coast on a commercial dragger. In 1996 with all the
new rules and regulations he got tired of fishing, sold his boat
and settled on Nantucket. Here he started to crave decoys and
shorebirds, and then fish. Mr. Melton craves his fish out of Old
Growth Wood that he found on Nantucket and in Vermont. Old growth
wood comes from trees harvested by first settlers to build their
homes and barns.
