The original Shore Galleries
was founded by Donald Witherstine in 1947. It handled all the
important artists of its' day who were living and working in Provincetown.
It continued until the early 1970's and was reborn almost 40 years
later by Mr. Witherstine's grandson Fred Hemley, John Sinaiko
and Muffin Ray. The original premise and spirit remains the same,
to represent local artists and to provide a home for art in its'
many forms , while welcoming artists and visitors alike.
